Description:We are hiring a Senior Data Scientist to evaluate and improve our products for users and business clients. We are looking for a creative problem solver with strong analytical and quantitative skills to mine and analyze complex datasets and extract actionable insights that inform product development and business strategy. Your recommendations will enable our team to make evidence-based decisions, directly impacting the success of the product. Requirements:

• 3+ years of Data Science experience
• Bachelor’s degree in the quantitative fields such as Computer Science, Statistics, Predictive Analytics, or Applied Mathematics (master’s degree or PhD preferred)
• Experience using statistical software (e.g., R, Python, MATLAB, Pandas) and SQL to extract and manipulate data from multiple sources, conduct advanced statistical analysis, and create visualizations
• Experience in mining complex correlational findings and constructing reports that meaningfully convey the relationship between many different variables
• Ability to design and run A/B testing experiments to improve user engagement
• Delivery-oriented personality, ability to lead and execute all analysis and modeling from start to finish
• Experience with business intelligence, dashboarding, and visualization tools (e.g., MetaBase, Tableau, Looker, Periscope, Grafana, Talend)
• Creative and critical thinking to deconstruct problems and transform personal insights into data-backed recommendations
• Communicating clearly, concisely, and persuasively on quantitative topics, verbally and in writing
• Ability to anticipate needs, plan ahead, implement accordingly, and function as a true self-starter with a sense of personal responsibility
• Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously, prioritizing (and reprioritizing), and working effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
• Flexibility, curiosity and ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly
• No task is too small or big mentality

Bonus Skills
• Experience in computational social science and analyzing data from academic research
• Ability to review academic literature to exact insights about the relationship between different variables and research findings, which will inform mining our datasets

Responsibilities:

• Work with large, complex datasets to uncover and solve difficult analysis problems, generating insights that drive key decisions across the platforms
• Implement advanced data mining techniques to analyze a wide range of user behavior by employing a variety of tools, developing predictive models, and running simulations to optimize user experience, business outcomes, and marketing strategy
• Conduct hypothesis-driven exploratory analysis to evaluate user experience and growth as well as determine causal links between these metrics and product changes, making data-driven recommendations on how to improve engagement, retention, and stickiness
• Work cross-functionally to define problem statements and collaboratively pursue research by designing experiments, analyzing quasi-experimental variation in data, and conducting A/B tests
• Use advanced statistical analysis to extract insights from user data (e.g., correlational and multivariate analysis, linear regression models, structural equation modeling, etc.)
• Translate complex findings and results into a compelling narrative in reports and presentations that use effective data visualization and communication techniques
